THE COLSON FELLOWS PROGRAM AT

Faith Community Church

Most of our Christian education rightly focuses on knowing God and living in right relationship with Him. But following Christ is not simply about what we believe—it is about who we are becoming.
The Colson Fellows Program is a ten-month journey of spiritual and intellectual formation designed to help believers grow into mature disciples whose faith shapes every aspect of life. Rooted in the grand biblical story of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration, this experience forms Christians to see all of reality through the lens of Scripture and to live under the gracious
reign of Christ in every sphere.
In a cultural moment marked by confusion about identity, morality, truth, and even what it means to be human, Christians need more than information. We need transformation. We need formation.
Scripture reminds us that the “powers and principalities” actively seek to disorder God’s good creation (Eph. 6:12). Ideas shape lives—you have heard it said, ideas have consequences, but bad ideas have victims. Faithful discipleship requires discernment: learning to recognize what is true, good, and beautiful according to God’s Word—and what is not.
Public faithfulness is not manufactured through activism; it is cultivated through formation. When Christians are deeply rooted in Christ, wise and gracious engagement with the world becomes a natural expression of mature discipleship.
That is why we are pleased to partner with the Colson Center for Christian Worldview to offer the Colson Fellows Program at Faith Community Church.

What is the Colson Fellows Program?

The Colson Fellows Program is a rigorous, ten-month formation experience that compresses a lifetime of Christian wisdom into a focused season of growth.
This is not merely a Christianity 101 class. It is not primarily about accumulating facts or mastering arguments. It is a 401-level class about being shaped—mind, heart, and habits—into the likeness of Christ.
The goal is not simply to understand a Christian worldview, but to live one.

Throughout the year, Colson Fellows-in-Training (CFITs):
• Deepen their understanding of the whole biblical story
• Learn to recognize the formative power of competing worldviews
• Develop habits of discernment rooted in Scripture
• Grow in clarity about their calling and stewardship
• Cultivate clarity, confidence, and courage in Christ

Whether you are new to Christian worldview study or have long engaged in theological reflection, the Colson Fellows Program integrates belief and obedience—so that doctrine shapes character, and character shapes life.

Program Overview

Beginning each August, Colson Fellows-in-Training follow a carefully curated curriculum
accessible through the Colson Fellows Online Learning Platform.
Participants will engage 6–8 hours per week in prayerful reading, reflection, and study, including:
• Daily devotionals that integrate theology and lived experience
• 12–14 books carefully selected by the Colson Center
• Twice-monthly live webinars with respected Christian thinkers
• Monthly in-person meetings at Faith Community Church
The monthly meetings are the heart of the experience—discussion-driven learning communities where participants process what they are learning together under the guidance of trained Colson Fellows leaders. These gatherings are not lectures, but environments of mutual encouragement, accountability, and spiritual sharpening.
Throughout the year, CFITs thoughtfully examine important issues facing the Church today—not as detached observers, but as disciples asking, “How then shall we live?” The emphasis is not reaction, but faithfulness;
not argumentation, but wisdom; not anxiety, but confidence rooted in Christ.
Each participant also develops a Personal Mission Plan designed to help them prayerfully discern
how God has uniquely wired and positioned them. This plan flows from the conviction that calling is discovered
through surrender, and fruitfulness flows from abiding (John 15).
